Right - first impressions.  Its damn hard.  Not only is it like PUBG on drugs in some aspects, its like it in all aspects.  Just navigating is a chore.  There is no map, unless you buy one from a vendor, but then this can be pinched from you if you die and its not insured.

But the sound - wow, never heard anything like it before in a game.  I was standing in a field at close to midnight game time and you could hear the wind whistling in the trees, hear the direction it was coming from and the crickets chattering away to themselves.  The guns sound brilliant, only used a pistol so far, but it sounds very realistic and like the real firearms I have used in the past.  Got a lovely solid metalic thud to them, very nice indeed.  Even the recoil, the weight of the gun coming down is realistic too.  You cant just pump a handgun like in the movies and expect to be accurate, you have to give it a touch of time to settle, and the game represents that.

So, you start off with just a pistol, and a knife.  You need to insure your items because anything you take into the field, you risk losing.  If you die and your body gets looted, then everything you are carrying is gone - forever.  The insurance aspect of it only works if you die and you dont get looted.  So that means your backpack, your ammo, guns, food, water, med kits - everything.  So if you have bought that map to navigate around, well, you will need to buy it again.

I played one game before it got too much for me and the anxiety kicked it too high.  Damn it.

Skinhead and I tried to work out going in as a party - well quite simply, it doesnt work.  There is no way of grouping up with your friends, unless by fluke and even once inside the game, there is no way of finding each other, although with time, once you learn the area, I dont doubt that you couldnt guide each other to an RV point.

Brilliant first impressions, really hard, but really good.  It is PUBG completely out of its head on drugs.  Totally different level.  Oh, how many ways would you like to die?  You can die from injuries which is normal, as well as dehyrdration, loss of blood pressure, shock, illness and a bunch of others that I cant remember now.  And if you do get an injury, and you bandage yourself up, be gentle for a little while, because if you become too active too quickly, the wound will just reopen itself again.

I completely agree with your assessment of the game. I played it semi-recently and I loved it. The only reason I stopped was the lack of time. Can't wait to hit it up again soon.
